INSTRUCTIONS
Materials:
- Stegosaurus template
- Up to 10 clothespins
- Crayons
- Permanent marker
- Paint or markers (optional)
Step 1
The craft is intended to be a tool to practice sequencing or letter/number recognition. Decide what skill you want to use your dinosaur to develop – for my example, I used it as a tool for learning the letters of your name. Another good way to use it is to sequence numbers 1-10.
Use a permanent marker to write corresponding letters/numbers on both the back of the dinosaur and on the clothespins.
Step 2 (optional)
Use paint or markers to decorate the clothespins.
Step 3
Color the dinosaur.
Step 4
Once complete, let your child use the clothespins to match the clothespins to the corresponding letters/numbers on the dinosaur. Not only is this good practice for sequencing and letter/number recognition, but manipulating the clothespins is great for fine motor development!
