INSTRUCTIONS
Materials:
- Parts of a Flower template
- Crayons
- Glue
- Strands of brown yarn
- Leaf sticker
- Flower sticker (optional)
- Scrap paper (optional)
Note: I recommend that you explain the parts of a flower to your child from the bottom up. That is why the craft is completed in that order.
Step 1
Glue strands of yarn as “roots” of the flower. You may also draw roots with a brown crayon.
Step 2
Color stem green.
Step 3
Attach leaf sticker to stem.
Step 4 (Method 1)
For younger children, the easiest method is to use the flower sticker for the petals of the flower.
Step 4 (Method 2)
Your child can also draw the flower directly onto the paper or draw it on a piece of scrap paper. If the draw it on a separate piece of paper, you will have the opportunity to practice cutting and gluing it onto the paper.
Step 4 (Method 3)
Another fun method is to make the petals collage-style. Your child can color scrap paper or use colored construction paper and cut it or rip it into pieces. They can arrange it and glue it onto their paper.
